Worst place to live Resident Named Nicci Davies makes issues for anything from garden services work to children playing in the garden. Body Corp just does paper shovelling. Besides that its not well maintained.
Lived here for 7 years and it was a wonderful place until one resident started complaining about our parrots making noise. In response to complaints from the resident through Body Corp, our opinions and our replies to them were never heard. We noticed over time that Body Corp favoured the resident over us because we were simply tenants and she is an "owner".After a while of constant e-mails and communication, we also noticed that there seemed to be racial bias and prejudice to it and that Body Corp is very one sided. It seemed as if all white residents were favoured by them. The caretaker went around for all white pet owners in the complex requesting them to register their pets but conveniently missed out our flat. We tried everything we could to reduce the noise from the parrots. We took orders from Body Corp and the resident complainant about what to do in our home and at what time. We really tried our best to comply because we understood the complaints of the resident. However she still complained even after and at times when our parrots didn't make a noise. Body Corp would not listen to anything we had to say. We requested people who had communication with them to kindly call us because our e-mails were blatantly ignored every time. We even had a petition signed by 15 other residents near our block of flats in agreement that our parrots do not disturb them. This was too ignored by Body Corp. We were even surprise inspected by the caretaker many times during the lockdown. If you're non-white, good luck with Body Corp if there is ever a white resident who complains of you or your family and the activities you do. Sounds petty now, but we replied to their e-mails with diplomacy, a lot of understanding, we hurried through the most of our day to ensure the birds are back in the flat to reduce the noise, we avoided using our balcony as we pleased. All they did was simply ignore us for the mere fact that we are not white and we are just tenants, we're not "owners". It became frustrating to constantly apologise about the inconvenience and voice an opinion that was never heard and to constantly deal with racial prejudices. Our parrots had to stay indoors at all times else we face a fine of R1000 per day. They were only allowed by Body Corp for 30 mins per day on our balcony. That is not sufficient for an animal. We requested more time, NO REPLY. We were then informed by Body Corp to remove the parrots from the premises by a certain date. How do you move the parrots without us? They depend on us, they're animals. They can't move without us. A subtle eviction in my opinion during Covid-19.
Very quiet and cosy for our short visit. Secure complex with 24hrs security and beautiful gardens.
