Do not move here, overpriced student accommodation with terrible customer service, MySpace cares more about taking your money than providing you with a safe comfortable home away from home. STUDENTS get fined thousands of rands for sleepovers under the guise of “community safety” MySpace paradys has recently welcomed various SA rugby teams into the accommodation without informing its current residents, residents complaints about excessive noise and disturbances have been completely ignored for months and met with snarky responses from management. Paying upwards of R7000 a month for accommodation (barely half a room), you’d expect some better customer service. I find it hard to sleep and study due to the noise disturbances, and common areas are unusable as they were taken over by rugby players.

MySpace has seriously dropped the ball this year as a second-year attendant, to a shocking degree. Without much notice or care, a massive squad of Women’s Rugby Players has migrated into this student accommodation and changed the entire atmosphere of living. The rambunctious comradely of a professional team sports has seriously clashed with the quiet monster-fuelled accounting crunch-time culture of the students. The beautiful facilities they advertise have become unusable unless you want to combat a team of 20 girls practically living in the common areas. The space is never quiet anymore and the girls of this rugby team do not respect the culture of the students. And worst or all, management does not care. They have taken advantage of students away from home for the first time - trying to find their voice and I frankly, I find it sickening. Corporate greed has ruined this space, do not send your child here.
This is my second year staying at the Paradyskloof building, I have stayed at the other buildings in previous years and this has by far been my worst experience staying at MySpace. This year the management has been poor as rugby teams have been allowed to stay here, decreasing the overall quality of living here as a student.
I have been staying here the whole year and enjoyed the place. However, for the past few months various rugby teams have been staying here at a time. The teams have been completely disruptive. They scream and shout late at night, use the study/quiet areas as chatting rooms, leave the laundry in a mess, and take up the whole gym blasting super loud music. Because the teams keep alternating, every single time, they have to relearn the rules. The students staying have complaint so often, yet nothing changed. We were not made aware of this happening at all.
Terrible student accommodation! At the beginning of this year (some time in April) a massive group of the South African Rugby Women’s team moved in and MySpace has been a hellhole ever since! The girls are loud, messy, disruptive, inconsiderate and disrespectful. MySpace, conveniently so, did not inform us as the residents of MySpace AT ALL. They went as far as to reallocating students to other rooms a week before they (students) were going to move in (sounds like they didn’t want to give us a chance to look for a different place to stay). We only found out because the girls literally moved in. We have complained numerous times but NOTHING seems to have been done because the same things keep happening. If you’re looking for really good accommodation that cares about you as a student and your needs, one that has a great, respectful and quiet student environment MYSPACE PARADYSKLOOF is the last place you should look at. Sports players and students DO NOT MIX. The calm and quiet study environment that students need and the hyperactivity, team spirited world of sports WILL NEVER go hand in hand and the big bosses of MySpace saw a massive cheque and didn’t care about how the actual logistics would work! You are taking advantage of young adults who live in a town that already experiences an accommodation crisis! They know very well that other accommodations are expensive and have used that against us! ABSOLUTELY POORRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
