If I could rate this place a minus (➖ ) I would! They really don’t care at all. I blame myself because I was so desperate to find a place and now I have to deal with building management that doesn’t look into my issues I have had since I moved in. My ceiling leaks what smells like sewage water into my apartment I have a cracked wall that was meant to be fixed before I moved in and it hasn’t been attended to. Funny part is that the building manager came to me and said “it’s not bad, we will get someone to fix it” and 3 months later it hasn’t been fixed. They mix up parking bays and I am still paying for parking. Oh here’s a kicker! The place is infested with roaches 🪳 DO NOT MOVE HERE! Update: I moved out! It’s not safe at all. I recall always questioning the security situation whenever I’d come in with an uber and present a code they wouldn’t even bother punching it in. There was also an incident that occurred while I was still staying here and the management completely removed themselves from acknowledging the fact that it isn’t safe. No camera footage at all to show what might have happened. My safety was compromised! Ithemba might hook you with their deals but don’t make the mistake of moving in!

Ridiculous. We were notified of fumigation and that the chemicals used would not be harmful and after an hour we would be able to return to our apartments. Not only did they only start the fumigation process at 15:30 but it’s been over 5 hours and I still cannot access my apartment due to the fumes. This is so inconsiderate. Where am I supposed to sleep tonight? Very upset at this

After moving out of The Apollo, I was charged move-out inspection fees that I repeatedly asked to have explained and justified. Despite several requests, no one could provide a clear explanation—they simply forwarded a breakdown of the charges. While the charges were still under dispute, I started receiving legal warning SMSs. To avoid further escalation, I paid the full amount on the invoice and sent proof of payment to both Ithemba Properties and their attorneys, making it clear that the charges were still on query. Despite this, the legal warnings continued. I have now received another demand from their attorneys for an amount that does not even match the original invoice I paid, yet no one has been able to explain the discrepancy.

Absolutely horrible place to stay in. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I stayed there for 3 years and ever since the change in management/ownership to Ithemba Properties, everything started going downhill. They got our contracts wrong and we were charged month-to-month even though we had signed a 1-year lease. They unlawfully increased rent and force you to pay for every single thing. Didn't get our deposit refund back after moving out and got charged exorbitant amounts on top of that even though we sent communication in time. Horrible turnaround time (Ithemba staff at The Apollo are incompetent), they barely know the answers and nothing gets escalated. Other than fumigation and hot water issues, they get your contract wrong and overcharge on everything. We sent multiple emails stating how they breached our lease agreement on several counts, but no acknowledgement from their part. Absolutely horrible management.

Been here for almost 2 years and it would pain me to have to leave for work. I love everything about the place. Management is great, responsive and has a sense of urgency. They have perfectly designed this place for your convenience. From the concierge taking care of your packages when not here, equipped gym, uncapped wifi, games room, cinema, swimming pool, business centre, laundromat, car wash and cafeteria that serves great food with essentials to get if need be. The security is also amazing, you’ll feel very safe living alone. You literally do not need to leave your place. There’s a generator that working in communal spaces during load-shedding. Everything is as pictures and is maintained according. Luxury living at its best. Update on the above, There's been change in management which is evident as it's been one problem after the other. We are currently going on 3 weeks without backup power and There's no sense of urgency from management. They have lost the competitive advantage. I am moving out soon.
