unfortunately these apts have roaches no matter how clean you keep the place. very small roaches but still you will see them often in kitchen and bathroom. im not sure if they come from drainage in bathroom or come in through the gaps in the front door of apartment. you may get lucky and get an apt that doesnt have this issue but for long term lease i wouldn't risk it. the apartments also often has water supply issues which can last days leading you to shower with cold water from bucket. and sometimes issues with hot water not working: location is unbeatable though.

Disappointing Living Experience at The Bolton I lived at The Bolton for over three years. While it initially offered a clean and quiet environment for young professionals, the quality of living declined significantly over time. The building is now noisy and poorly managed. Children run through the hallways, and thin walls make it easy to hear neighbours’ conversations and phones. Despite a no-smoking policy, the smell of cannabis often entered my apartment due to poor ventilation. Safety was a concern, particularly at night. During one incident, I was harassed in reception and the night security guard refused to intervene. Maintenance requests to iGrow were regularly ignored or delayed, and long-standing issues like mould and cockroach infestations were never properly addressed. On moving out, recovering my deposit proved difficult. Repeated calls to iGrow’s head office were met with silence. In summary, The Bolton no longer offers a secure or well-managed living space. I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful or professionally run environment.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at The Bolton Rosebank. Before arriving, I emailed and requested an early check-in and even offered to pay extra for the convenience. However, when I got there, the room was still occupied and then being cleaned, so I had to wait until 3pm. Even then, the cleaner was still inside, taking her time. To make matters worse, there was no water during my stay. On the morning of checkout, I wasn’t even able to freshen up or get ready properly because of this. What shocked me most was the lack of professionalism from the cleaner — she didn’t knock, simply unlocked the door and walked in while I was getting dressed. She even plugged her phone in to charge and stared at us as if we weren’t guests who had paid for privacy and respect. This was a completely unacceptable experience. I am disgusted by the service and would not recommend The Bolton Rosebank to anyone.

Building is in a tragic state, completely unfit for living, not to mention charging people money to stay there... 4th floor has no water outright. Keep seeing tenants complain to reception about it. I had no water in my unit too, and when i asked staff downstairs, they said the water worked, so i guess i was talking to a brick wall. I booked to stay a month, left after 2 days since there was no running water amd generally things seemed to be falling apart. The agency was Propr.co.za, I'm still waiting for a refund for the remainder of my stay. Safe to say they are not cooperative in the refund process and love making life difficult. Stay far away from The Bolton.
