The Claremont

I visited a one bedroom flat for sale with Sotheby's International Realty for R1,275,000. Great location. This apartment comes with two parking spaces, one with it's own title deed. It is north facing, with an eastern view from the bedroom. Block had a pool, 24hr security guards and card access. Great for students and professionals.

1. The building is invested with cockroaches, you'll need to fumigate monthly basically because they crawl through the vents. 2. The security is ridiculously tight. Sometimes I feel like the president stays here because it takes 20 minutes to get someone into the building. On top of that you have to go down and fetch the person. It's honestly annoying as hell. In principal you might think it's nice but it's just too much. 3. The security always signs for your orders - and mix it up often. 4. The taxis are diabolical - you can't work or study here much. 5. There are such stupid rules when it comes to security + the monitors are so slow. I swear I feel like bursting into anger just trying to get into my apartment because of the 70 security check points. Anyway, just not a good building in my opinion. Chill on security - the face recognition is enough. We don't need 50 guards and 30 page documents too.

We love this place, although it might look noisy from outside, it is fairly quite especially on the D and C blocks that face towards the rail way. Very secure, probably too secure, neat, swimming pool is well maintained, the wait time for a lift is less than 15sec. Close to Cavendish, Virgin active and all the nice restaurants and clubs.

Overall, The Claremont is a great option for anyone looking for modern and comfortable apartment living in a convenient location in Cape Town

I’m going to miss this place so much and the staff too. It was my first home for 4y after moving out of my parents’ house. Everything about it was beautiful and peaceful. I felt safer than ever here. No one could just come and see me whenever they wanted, and that was perfect for me. I’ll miss everyone, even though I was shy and not very outgoing. So many memories… and the pool, the view, everything 😭 see you again one day maybe❤️
