The Huntsman - Somerset West Apartments

Allow me to do just that! “Ever since we purchased our Balwin Properties apartment at The Huntsman, Somerset West, we have received outstanding after-sales service. We are not only happy with our purchase but also truly delighted with the continued support from Balwin Properties. A special mention must go to the Building and Maintenance team, particularly Johan and Lunga. As with any new development, there are always small snags. However, I have nothing but praise for how professionally and efficiently these were handled. Once logged on the portal, issues were attended to promptly. What stood out most was that Lunga would personally follow up to ensure everything was completed to our satisfaction. This created a positive first impression since we moved in—one that has truly lasted. Thank you to Balwin Properties, especially the Building Maintenance team. I am genuinely impressed by your professionalism. As a retired public servant, we always aimed to uphold the spirit of Batho Pele, and your team truly embodies this principle. We feel valued and confident that we are receiving maximum value from our purchase. Thank you very much.”

Only 1 visitor entry gate. Long queues even outside of peak hours. Insufficient visitor parking. Complex rules are over the top and unreasonable. They even took photos of washing drying well within the inside of our apartment which is surely an invasion of privcay. But it's a safe complex and units are well designed. Just the management that is very poor.

Terrible to live here unfortunately. If you’re not dealing with power outages, you’re dealing with no water or low water pressure. Parking situation is an absolute mess. Cheap and tacky finishes inside of the apartments, as an electrician myself, I realised quickly that certain plugs aren’t even earthed as when you touch the appliances you get a little shock. Place has so much potential but it’s not fun to live here. Glad I moved out recently.

The estate is well maintained, safe, and offers excellent amenities, creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and professional, and the location is convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and major routes. I highly recommend The Huntsman to anyone looking for quality accommodation in Somerset West.

The security staff took forever to let the people in. I found the roads very confusing and the people very unhelpful who I asked for directions. I just thought that it was too big, and too many apartments in one spot. Although I did get to look at the show flat and that was lovely and spacious. Not my taste in tiles etc, but a great size.
