The Legacy Apartments

Coming up on a year living here, and I am extremely happy with my experience. The buildings, grounds and facilities are beautiful and very well kept. Staff are helpful and well informed. I am looking to renew my lease for another year of stress free and comfortable living.

Disclosure of payment terms are not clear. I had chosen the option to pay rent on the 15th of every month as that is my salary date. My second month of living here I was locked out of my apartment and was refused help due to the rent not being paid BEFORE the 15th. This month my electricity was cut off due to the rent not being paid BEFORE the 15th. Do not move in here, Stanley Studios was way better and they had far less amenities than The Legacy

I’ve been living at Legacy Apartments for over a year and was one of the very first tenants to move in. At the start, before all the buildings were completed, the place was decent, quiet, and peaceful. That version of Legacy no longer exists. This place has completely deteriorated. The noise levels are out of control and absolutely nothing is done about it. There is constant screaming, shouting, and loud music, even though the lease clearly states no parties and no Bluetooth speakers are allowed. Those rules mean absolutely nothing here. I have complained three times via email and twice in person. I have spoken directly to Jason and Chad, the so-called managers, and every single time nothing changes. Security is useless. When reporting noise or parties being held in communal areas, security openly says it is too hard to control and that there is nothing they can do. That is an unacceptable response in a residential complex charging high rent. At this point, living here feels like staying in the slums or some bottom-barrel housing situation, not a managed apartment complex. There is zero peace, zero accountability, and zero respect for tenants who actually follow the rules. There was even an incident where management instructed security to simply move a party to another communal area instead of shutting it down. This obviously did nothing, because noise travels throughout the entire complex. When I pointed this out, management refused to continue the conversation, and security also stopped engaging with me altogether. My emails are now completely ignored. I am stuck in a long-term lease, paying a lot of money, and living in an environment that feels chaotic, cheap, and neglected. It is honestly devastating and humiliating to pay premium rent and feel like you are living in a ghetto. Every single weekend, from Thursday through Sunday, there is nonstop noise. It starts as early as 1pm and regularly goes on well past the 10pm cutoff. I cannot remember the last peaceful weekend I had here. If you are considering Legacy Apartments, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. This is not a peaceful place. Management does not enforce their own rules, security does not care, and complaints are ignored. This place is disgustingly badly run, and I would never recommend it to anyone.

All I can say I regret extending my lease and should’ve looked for a better place to move to now have to wait till it’s done to move out. The apartments are built cheaply and things just break easily but then you must pay even though the materials used are crap to start with, the bugs are also ridiculous they come everyday even after you just cleaned and don’t have any trash in the apartment. This place is not what it seems it’s a big facade with the nice building, gym, pool and social area just know it’s full of chaos and commotion here, you’ll see people peeing in the plants as you enter here in front of security, drinking and pouring alcohol in the pool that everyone swims in, non stop loud music and shouting and waking up to empty bottles and cigarettes all around the corridors, stairs and parking areas and some tenants/ staff who stay on the grounds sneak people into the premises without signing in as they have more than 4 people in a time so they have to sneak people in to throw the massive parties that happen here. Don’t even bother with management and security with concerns because you’ll be chasing your own tail and nothing will get done, this place has become like a student residence, just noise and partying every single day from Sunday to Sunday right through to midnight each day, even though there are rules here but by the way they don’t exist because no one follows them and management can’t even put them in place because they find it to hard to do, I have no other choice but to leave every weekend to go to family or a friends even at times a hotel just to get away from the noise. The place gets trashed each day because of the parties and still nothing gets done by management as they just tell the cleaners to clean it quickly before they show potential new tenants to view the apartments. This place is the worst and it’s going to get worse over the years and management will keep deteriorating as well with it because no one here wants to work. Also let me add the maintenance staff that stay on the grounds are also part of the issue here as they also will be making noise, playing loud music and partying as well. Trust me when I tell you this, the legacy is just to take your money and that’s it, this is not for people who are “mature adults” looking for peace and quite during evenings and weekends because you won’t be getting that here at all instead you’ll just be frustrated and feeling like your in prison in your own apartment because you want to leave but you can’t because you’re stuck in a lease that you can’t get out of and the only way to get out they just want more money from you even though they have breached the lease already on their end. Please don’t waste your time staying here this place is honestly only for people who don't mind living in chaos and a dump, trust me the legacy is not what it seems, there’s no order here you can do whatever you want and I mean whatever you want and nothing will happen it’s like rules and law doesn’t exist in this place. It's a gorgeous, luxurious apartment building. A swimming pool, and a cinema, braai facilities and a top of the art gym. I love it. It's a like a mini resort where you can relax after a long day. Everything is clean and exceptionally well kept. Of course there are a few more hidden gems... I honestly give The Legacy apartments one heck of an applause... It's an amazing place.
