The Parks Lifestyle Apartments

Rent is more than what they advertise, all in the name of “utilities”. Then you still have to pay for actual utilities like electricity, water & hot water, which is not hot, just lukewarm. However, I love its convenience for parents, having schools, play parks & the splash park for the kids. However, the restaurant is not family friendly, they sell Hookah, so people smoke in the presence of kids. The bar also gets kinda crazy, people breaking bottles in parking lots. Otherwise, it’s nice & apartments are big.

Where can I start with The Parks. Its was a rollercoaster of a stay. I stayed at the parks for a year and 8 months. Initially I thought it looked like an amazing place, but the first apartment they gave me was filled with cockroaches. Perhaps from the previous tenants or they forgot to clean. When I finally got a new apartment after two weeks of complaining and not getting anything the drama started. The Parks is filled with grown children. Yes not everyone is like that but the vast majority are young adults that party almost everyday. Every day I would come home to noise and loud music. When I complained to the guards, they would just get bribed and the noise would continue. Sometimes the guard wouldn't even answer my calls. Then the weekends. Weekends were filled with partying and dirty corridors. People would leave their alcohol bottles on the staircase or there would even be broken bottles on the floor. Yes the cleaners would clean on Mondays but this happened every weekend. I am glad I left. The place has potential to be a great residence. The landscaping and amenities all make it nice. But the management and the type of people who stay there have brought the place down to an out of control res level.

I almost feel like it could get 2.5 stars. The roads and gardens are nice but always seem to have small pieces of garbage and glass around. The room I'm in is far from perfect. It's not terrible, but leaves a lot to be desired. The "shop" is a tiny little Cafe that has very limited select because of its size, while the laundry is also incredibly small for the complex normally with more broken machines than working ones. The restaurant and bar seem very nice if a bit noisy. Other resident tend to be noisy at times, even in the early hours of the morning on weekends and holidays. Not unbearable, but worth noting if you prefer a quieter environment. Make sure you read the fineprint on the contacts and beware all the additional monthly costs they add on after the price on the websites. The contract is generic for many of their complexs and so has outdated and irrelevant clauses. Sales guys will just smile and tell you it's all OK.

I was consideringt this place but I saw the name AFHCO, I currently stay in one of their buildings, same issues. it's disappointing. electricity and water issues, poor mainataince. High rates and utilies like +1500 from the rent they mention. Nah this company is the worst everywhere they go, nothing they do is good. No building of theirs is better.

I deeply regret staying at The Parks Lifestyle Apartments. From the very first day I moved in, I have experienced nothing but problems and extremely poor treatment from the agent who placed me here. There has been an ongoing issue with dustbins that constantly smell because some tenants leave trash on top of the bins instead of inside them. As a result, the entire place smells most of the time, which is unacceptable for a residential complex. To make matters worse, despite paying my January rent in full, my services were disconnected. I have an infant who requires special care, and this situation has caused immense stress and hardship. I immediately forwarded proof of payment to the accounts department, clearly showing that the money left my bank account and was received by them. On top of that, I even paid an additional R5,000 to have my services restored — yet my services are still not on. My banker advised that they are investigating it should take 24-48hrs that is why I paid an additional R5000 to carry me over to the new month Feb. This level of incompetence and lack of urgency is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I have done everything required of me as a tenant, and yet I am still being treated unfairly. I will make sure that this matter reaches the appropriate authorities. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to think twice. I would not recommend The Parks Lifestyle Apartments to anyone — not even my worst enemy. This has been a truly distasteful and disappointing experience
