The Tokyo (aparthotel complex)

It was a beautiful place. Very clean and comfortable. The pool area is amazing. Great experience.

My first solo birthday trip November 2025 I had a pleasant stay at the Tokyo Aparthotel in Cape Town. The staff was very kind, and I appreciated the central location, with restaurants, bars, and markets nearby, all within walking distance. The room was okay, though the TV and YouTube weren’t functioning well. One minor inconvenience was that there was no seating area at the reception, so arriving tired from a flight, it was a bit uncomfortable during check-in. They only accepted a R1000 deposit by card, which was refunded after check-out. I especially enjoyed the rooftop view, although it was a bit disappointing that no alcohol is allowed, so I couldn't enjoy the view with a drink. Overall, I enjoyed my solo trip and would definitely consider staying here again. The receptionist girl was very kind, although I don’t recall her name.

I stayed at The Tokyo for 5 days, and my experience was phenomenal. The staff is super kind & always ready to help. The building itself has facial recognition access only which is a plus in my books! There’s a restaurant as well for convenience. The rooftop views are breathtaking. The communal pool is always clean and ready for anyone to jump in and enjoy themselves. I would come back here 100 times over & over !❤️

The Tokyo is a great place to stay and visit. It has excellent facilities, including a beautiful rooftop with a swimming pool and braai area, where you can relax and enjoy the views. There is also a small gym, which is perfect if you want to fit in a simple workout during your stay. I’ve been staying here since the building first opened and it has always been a quiet, clean, and well maintained place. The security is excellent, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the elevators are reliable. Overall, everything has been a great experience. The only downside for me is that there is sometimes a smell of marijuana (weed) in certain areas. Aside from that, I absolutely love living here and would definitely recommend Tokyo to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable and secure place to stay.
