Unsafe, Filthy, and a Complete Scam – Do NOT Move into West Ways Apartments If I could rate West Ways Apartments less than one star, I would. This place is a health hazard, a security nightmare, and a financial scam — all wrapped into one overpriced disaster. Let’s start with the living conditions: The units are INFESTED with cockroaches. The infestation was so bad, I couldn’t even let my daughter visit. Despite constant complaints, management did absolutely nothing. Instead of fixing the problem, they ignored my emails, skipped a Rental Housing Tribunal mediation, and turned to harassment. Then there’s the utility scam: • Water: You’re billed a minimum of R430/month no matter how much you use — even if you’re not there for the full month. • Electricity: You get charged R12 every time you recharge, and on top of that, they deduct R3.76 from your balance daily, even when you’re not using electricity. It’s like being robbed on autopilot. Now for the safety issues, which are just as bad: • People have had their car wheels stolen on the property. • Someone was even hijacked at the front gate. • The gate barely works, and when it does, it’s more of a liability than security. • Despite multiple incidents, management refuses to install 24-hour security or even basic CCTV cameras. Bottom line: This place is dangerous, dirty, and run by people who clearly don’t care about their tenants. Do NOT move in here. Don’t let the photos or location fool you — you’ll regret every second and every cent spent here.
