There’s a bald guy at reception at 4477, who is very rude. I don’t speak Zulu well, so whenever I try to speak to him in English, he either ignores me or gets visibly frustrated. When he does respond, he speaks in Zulu and doesn’t translate what he’s saying, even though it’s clear I don’t understand. It made me feel unwelcome when I was simply trying to get help.

It's a good review of being here their accommodation is excellent ❤️🔥 Smith Street has that proper city energy: the buzz of taxis and buses, street vendors calling out, old Art Deco buildings mixed with new business, and everyone moving with purpose. You get the full Durban CBD pulse there — fast paced, gritty, and full of character.

I wouldn’t recommend City Life Towers to anyone because their procedure violates tenants’ rights and you don't get help from the reception when you report something in person, you must communicate with the reception using an app. You don't even deserve 1star of ratings Firstly, Tenants are not treated equally, the treatment I get is different from my roommate treatment and it because of their system Under South African law, landlords must provide tenants with a habitable property free from infestations like cockroaches, rats, and mice. If pests are present due to structural defects or poor maintenance, the landlord is legally responsible for extermination and repairs. Tenants, however, must maintain hygiene and report infestations promptly. City life procedures and the service they gave me clearly violated this right mentioned above. In my experience at City Life Towers: The right to a safe and habitable property was violated when I discovered a mice infestation in my room. Right to timely repairs was ignored when reception refused to escalate the issue even though pest control was on duty, forcing me to stay outside my room all night. Right to fair treatment was undermined by their “procedure” requiring tenants to log complaints in an app before receiving help, even in emergencies. Right to peaceful occupation was denied when I couldn’t safely use my room, and my roommate was delayed for work waiting for pest control who arrived hours later after they saw the report, email and after calling me and my roommate to inform us the pest control will be there to assist us. Worse instead of fumigation or proper pest control, they only set a trap, leaving the mice still in the room. This shows neglect, unsafe practices, and a lack of care for paying tenants. City Life Towers failed to provide a safe, habitable environment and treated tenants unfairly. I strongly advise others to avoid this accommodation.

Lived here (Smith towers) for 3 year. The apartment is clean, spacious and well maintained. The security are always on duty which makes it feel very safe. Reception responds quickly to any issues since we use App to report all our issues. Water and electricity are reliable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful home.
