I am highly disappointed with the living standards at Indawo Lifestyle Apartments. They charge premium rental rates but deliver sub-standard service. First, the hot water infrastructure is deeply flawed. Every time I open the tap, I have to let the water run for over 10 minutes before it reaches a usable temperature. Because the hot water here is prepaid, I am actively being billed and losing money just waiting for the water to heat up. I have logged two formal maintenance requests about this, only to be given a vague excuse that they will "talk to a hot water company," with zero actual resolution. Second, the common area Wi-Fi remains completely unresolved with little to no effort from the building manager to fix it. When you raise these issues with the main administration, they simply pass the buck and tell you to go speak to the maintenance admin instead of taking accountability. For an estate marketed as a premium lifestyle choice, the lack of urgency, poor maintenance, and unfair utility billing are completely unacceptable. Avoid until they fix their infrastructure.

I've recently moved in and I’m quite disappointed. There are some positives, such as its central location, the straightforward application process, responsive agents, a responsive maintenance team, and the units themselves being modern and spacious. The prepaid electricity and water system is simple to use. Oh, and the dustbins are cleaned and emptied regularly. However, there are some issues I find absolutely unacceptable. 1. I wasn't aware of a complex-wide cockroach problem. I had asked for fumigation before moving in, especially since I couldn’t view the unit beforehand due to a tenant being there. I assumed it was standard procedure to inspect, clean, and fumigate units before new tenants move in. On the first night, I realised my apartment had a serious issue. I needed deep fumigation— they sent a pest control company a week later, but no one has checked if the treatment was effective or if it was done properly. I have lost trust in this process. I feel uncomfortable in my new home and honestly can’t wait to leave because of it. Since pest control and its management are explicitly included in the lease, with inspections expected to be regular and shared responsibility between tenants and management, having a pest problem of this scale is completely unacceptable if inspections are supposedly carried out. The cost of insecticide, precautions, and the toll on my mental and physical health since moving in makes me more frustrated. I haven't even bought groceries yet. 2. When I arrived, my apartment was still being cleaned. Still, I found the kitchen drawers full of dirt (you can imagine what I found based on the above). The windows were dirty because, apparently, the cleaners that weekend did not have proper window-cleaning cloths. The floors were also quite sticky. 3. The build quality. I am in a top-floor apartment, but I can hear creaks and the closing of doors from the apartment below. It's quite odd.
Security told me Airbnbs aren't allowed here, but I'm at an Airbnb. The host didnt give me codes for the morning until my grocery delivery driver almost left with my food. He never apologized. Airbnb said I should only contact the host through their platform so when I didn't answer the host on WhatsApp he came to the door. I found that very invasive. I had a terrible time here and would not recommend it.
The Complex is an amazing place to live, offering wonderful conveniences like an on-site creche, around four playgrounds, a swimming pool and gym, along with the flexibility of unassigned parking that eliminates conflict between tenants. However, there are some drawbacks to be aware of: while they do have backup power that kicks in immediately, in my experience, it doesn't last through extended outages. The clubhouse has been closed for months with support tickets frequently closed without a response, and there is a slight security concern with outside vendors entering the complex offering door to door sales. Ultimately, it's a wonderfully convenient place to stay with a great range of amenities and a strong sense of community despite the maintenance and security challenges. So if you're not a picky person, this place is for you😉
This is not an ideal place to stay. The rent is outrageous. You’re always experiencing water issues in this estate and they are never proactively fixing the issue. It will take them 3-4 days to sort out. The apartments are built with cheap materials and pipes which are bust, and have water patches in the walls. The door locks have issues where the mechanism breaks and needs to be replaced, it starts with one room and then goes on to have issues with other rooms. Expect noise from Fridays to Sundays and screaming at late hours. This place is conveniently located to shops which is good. Don’t count on backup hot water because they operate with solar geysers. Management is forever unreachable and have a poor line of communication.
