The Franklin

Thank you so much for the peace and tranquility experienced @The Franklin this long weekend@1512. If you looking for a peaceful and tranquil place to spend time together at my worldclass African City of Johannesburg visit the Franklin. I really loved the place.

The place is an absolute bliss, I love the way the whole apartment is designed and decorated. The TV had so many entertainment channels from music channels all the way to cartoon channels, this proves the amount of dedication they have towards providing you with a pleasing and a joyful experience. They also had a collection of books that you could read during your stay if you felt the need to. I had everything that I needed from cutlery, iron and ironing board. There were extra plugs that I could use to charge my phone provided they also gave me an adaptor. I would, with no hesitation, give them a five-star rating.

We reserved and checked in for a weekend. While the facility was good, the surrounding area is not for older tourists or any tourists for that matter. It is not a safe area and any time you want to go from the apartment you must go by Uber. We checked in and immediately checked back out.

We were there for a shoot and the treatment was appalling. Communication is terrible. Upon our arrival there was no electricity and we couldn’t shoot for an hour or two. When we ask what’s the problem, the owner simply responded that he doesn’t work for City of Johannesburg and that it is not his problem. With this kind of a problem, some of our crew got stuck in a lift and the staff took time to assist with the matter and never bothered to apologise after that. Can I also mention that the lifts are not properly maintained and could be hazard to the visitors there. Throughout the shoot there’s a lady that came at 5am to kick us out telling us that it’s time for us to check out and she wouldn’t let us work properly until it was time for us to peacefully leave. She inspected the rooms while we were in them just to flex on us. If you need a place to sleep or a location to shoot, this is not it. There is nothing luxury about this place.

The concierge who met me in the beautiful lobby to check me in was super friendly and helpful. The apartment was so beautifully and luxuriously styled and furnished ...it was exactly how it looks in it's photos and the city scape views were the cherry on top. I was delighted to be provided with free, secure parking for the duration of my stay, as well as free cleaning services. The gym was also so spacious and well equipped in comparison to other hotel gyms I've seen.
