The West End Complex - Carlswald Midrand.

It's very noisy, and nothing gets done about it. People open their boots in the parking lot and drink from there with their music on full blast! Ubers are not allowed inside the complex, even if you have groceries and you're traveling alone! Or you need to be picked up and you're carrying luggage. You have to walk to the gate and it's quite a distance! The complex is extremely huge, but there's one tiny pool and one very small gym to service the entire complex! I love swimming but it's always very full there, as the pool area is also used as a chill spot where people camp around the pool and drink. This takes away the experience of a really good swim, especially with minor children, when the pool area is seriously overcrowded by people drinking and smoking.

The Good: -Good control access and patrol, safety is guaranteed. -Affordable rental (not too pricey) as the area is nice. - Close to all amenities. - Beautiful space inside, size of apartment just right and the finishes are okay. The bad: -Cheap bath tubs, shower (All plastic) and stoves not of qualified nor maintained. - Uncontrolled noise level (especially cars) it is like an adult res. I suspect that these adults never got attention as children and this is something that the security is lacking to control. - Not family friendly, if you have kids you will have a hard time because they will be inside the 24/7 the park is too tiny and no area where they ride bikes etc. The drivers inside drive like maniacs so their safety is at risk. - If you love peace and quiet, this is not for you. Basically short term stays will work and not long term. EDIT: From 3 to 2 stars Initially I thought there’s good security until an ACTUAL EVENT TOOK PLACE: The security is for decoration and not for residents. Zero accountability and instead blaming the residents. An incident happened at the West End Complex were the perpetrator lifted wipers of cars in 2 blocks RIGHT NEXT TO THE SECURITY GATE but there is no evidence or report back, and after following up numerous times the Manager believes that as a resident I am fabricating that my wiper was damaged and I must prove that before this event it was in good condition, because should have taken a photo a day before as I am fortune teller of what was to happen in my car the following day! I have zero trust in this company, I really had a high regard for them but after this, they are just for show and not to serve the people. Not once did I receive an apology instead it was arrogance and shifting responsibility.

Pros: Reasonable rental and purchase prices considering the apartment sizes, and finishings. Its conveniently located close to malls, and places of work in Kyalami. Cons: It is quite a noisy complex, which can go on late into the night, and complex rules are not enforced.

I visited cozy getaway at west end. The place didn’t have electricity, i had to ask the host what is going on with the electricity instead of her talking to me as a guest and inform me about the electricity situation. I had to go somewhere that morning but I couldn’t because the water was cold and i couldn’t iron my clothes. I didn’t eat that morning and guess what??? She promised me to pay back half the money, but no the host Lindo didn’t even ask for my banking details. Is this how west gate cozy get away treat customers??? I am disappointed in this place. I won’t recommend nor book it again.

Well appointed Apartments; good security, quality, durable fixtures and fittings etc, etc... except for, surprisingly, the bathtubs! Well suited, I think, for the young, ambitious and upward mobile.
