Before you move in , make sure you the read reviews. Every week we have maintenance issues. We moved in March but theongoing maintenance issue have been horrible . There are constant power outages which resulted to appliances being damaged. I am honestly so displeased by The Diamond and I can’t wait until my lease ends so that I can move out.

I'm at my wit's end with my stay at DIAMOND JEWEL CITY issues with electricity are unbearable - it's inconsistent and keeps tripping. The water is freezing cold, making everyday tasks a struggle. To top it off, my food is rotting in the fridge because of the lack of proper functioning. The worst part is being overcharged for such subpar services. It's unacceptable to pay for amenities that aren't being provided.I hope the management takes immediate action to address these issues. Until then, I wouldn't recommend Diamond Jewel City to anyone.

I like it here, Jewel City is rather vibey and I believe safe as there are always security visible, short walking distance to shops.

The Diamond building is a dump - beautiful on the outside and very damn old, low maintained inside, we are living like parasites and paying over R4000 for it. There are cockroaches in the building and mind you I clean my apartment almost everyday. when I moved in I found old rice under the kitchenette, but they charge you for cleaning when you move out. The wifi is crap, it is very limiting (so you rather use your won data when working from home or studying). The power went out for a whole week in December, my meat got rotten, I had to throw it all away. power goes out every week. No cameras in the corridors, so your apartment is not safe, you are not safe as well. someone might come in and steal, or rape you or do whatever, and they will be no record for it. no cameras in the parking as well but you pay R500 for it, a person can damage your car and run they will be no record for it..building is not maintained it is old. The laundry place is nasty (tenants faults) with old washing machines that ruins your clothes, limited sinks. Kids play area is unsafe and it is in the same floor with people who are smoking weed and drinking alcohol not enough cameras for security. You get charged for rent, hot water, and cold water but you still do not get the hot water. Windows are dirty, you would expert with the high rent we pay they could at least get people to clean the exterior of cleaning services. The lifts are not working most of the time, and they are old. The building is right next to another building or factory that has a machine that makes loud noises 24/7 you cannot hear your TV or yourself think. Never make a mistake like that I did and stay here, if you do, DO NOT sign a lease of a year - do 6 months or less and LEAVE , get a better place.

Ithemba is a haven! Solar backup means no load-shedding, water is clean and rarely has issues, and everything you need is downstairs — restaurants, ATMs, etc. The gym and co-working space are my favorite. Maintenance is quick, usually 1-2 days. They may prioritize Eyethu apartments more as I stayed there before, but Ithemba is still super well kept and convenient. Highly recommend!
